How do I export a video for TikTok in Premiere Pro?
Vertical, 1080×1920, H.264. The sequence has to be vertical too — exporting a wide sequence at a tall size just adds bars.
Steps
Check the sequence first: Sequence → Sequence Settings, frame size 1080 × 1920. If it is 1920×1080, make a new vertical sequence and paste your edit into it rather than fixing it at export.
Select the sequence and press ⌘M / Ctrl+M for the export screen.
Format: H.264. Preset: any 1080p preset, then correct the numbers below it.
Set frame size 1080 × 1920 and keep the frame rate the same as your footage — 30 or 60, not something in between.
Bitrate: VBR, 2 pass, target around 10 Mbps, maximum 16. More than that is uploaded and thrown away by TikTok’s own re-encode.
Tick Use Maximum Render Quality if you scaled anything, then Export.
Worth knowing
Keep titles and faces away from the outer edges — the app puts its own interface over the bottom quarter and the right-hand side of the frame. Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz. If the upload looks softer than your export, that is the platform re-encoding, and the fix is a slightly higher bitrate rather than a bigger frame.
